Crane Coupling

Coupling is a mechanical part designed to join two shafts, transferring motion and torque and enabling them to rotate together. In high-speed, heavy-duty power transmissions, it also serves to buffer shocks, damp, and improve the dynamic performance of the shaft system. Typically, a coupling consists of two parts, one attached to the driving shaft and the other to the driven shaft, connecting power sources such as reducers and motors. Couplings are commonly used to link power machines with working machines.

1. Flexible couplings

It can compensate for the relative misalignment of two shafts, making it suitable for applications where perfect alignment is not possible
Flexible couplings without elastic components have a high load capacity but cannot mitigate impacts or absorb vibrations.
Flexible couplings with metal elastic elements provide a high load capacity while also mitigating impacts and absorbing vibrations.
Flexible couplings with non-metallic elastic elements have a lower load capacity but effectively mitigate impacts and absorb vibrations.

2. Rigid couplings

With simple structure, can’t compensate the relative deviation of the two shafts
It can be used for the two shafts to ensure strict centering and stable load.

Application

Couplings are widely used and are essential whenever there is a need to connect components in a transmission system. They are commonly used between a reducer and another reducer, between a reducer and a motor, between a reducer and equipment, and between a motor and equipment, among other applications.
