We offer a wide range of crane lifting tongs, designed for various industrial lifting needs. Each product can be tailored to specific requirements, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
There are many applications that use lifting tongs:Plate tong,Billet tong, Box tong, Cylinder tong, Gear tong, 3-legs tong, Ingot tongs, Mill roll tong, Paper roll tong, Pipe tong, Slab tong, Tube tong...
Three basic tong configurations and application concepts based on how the tongs apply force to the lifted object | |
![]() | Supporting Tong Supporting tongs are for single-size objects with support clearance underneath, such as boxes, crates, bins, and containers. The tong's lifting feet support the load and maintain it on a horizontal lifting plane, ensuring it remains stable during lifting. |
![]() | Gripping Tong Gripping tongs are suited for handling materials like ingots, rolls, tubes, pipes, and other round or cylindrical objects. The tong extends beyond and below the center of the load to provide additional support. These tongs can accommodate a range of diameters (up to 25% variation), while the length of the load is generally unlimited. |
![]() | Pressure Tong Pressure tongs grip the vertical sides of slabs, bales, boxes, billets, and other flat or round objects. Pads on pressure tongs provide surface friction or penetration of the load to maintain a safe hold during handling. Pads can be provided with rubber, belting, pins, hardened points, serrated bits, and other materials for enhanced grip. |
Motorized Lifting Tongs: Equipped with motors, these tongs are applicable for handling single loads or stacks. A motor-driven rope hoist allows for pre-positioning of the lifting legs, minimizing side clearance or aisle space requirements and reducing cycle time.
Mechanical Lifting Tongs: Designed without electrical components, these tongs are ideal for lifting and transporting single slabs. Mechanical tongs can also be optionally fitted with manual or motorized set-down stools for handling multiple slabs.
Hydraulic Lifting Tongs: These tongs use a hydraulic power pack or cylinders to grip single slabs or slab stacks in horizontal or flat positions, effective for installations with limited headroom.
Each tong is equipped with the automatic latching device that provides safe and reliable operation of the clamping mechanism.
To operate the latch:
1. With the lift open, position the tong over the load
2. Lower the tong onto the load. With the lifting tong resting on the load, and hoist tension released, the latch automatically disengages from the locked open position
3. Raise the hoist to allow the tong pads to close onto load. Then lift and move the load to the desired location
To release the load
Lower the tong grab and place the load on the ground to relieve tension. The latch will automatically lock the tong in the open position. Then raise the hoist to remove the tong
